Default Ghost- Like characters

Hello there.

I have just a few minuites ago had my computer reformated, and a RAM upgrade from 256, to 512.

Before the upgrade and reboot, all the visuals were fine, the only thing bad was jumpy scenes and extremly slow loading.

But now, my characters and other characters and monsters look 'shady'.

It seems when I change a setting on the options, such as quality, the graphics go back to normal, but when any action occurs on screen, the pixels go shady again.

My graphics card is a Gforce fx 5500 128mb,and it has pixel shader.

What is my problem? and how is it fixed?

Thanks Alot, Ash.

Edit: for some reason , in the attached picture the graphics are normal. When I took the picture the graphics of me were shady.

Hum.

Try going to Options, then select Advanced. Move the Gamma slider left-right until you get the brightness you want?

Tho if it's only the chars looking darker than other things. Um. o_O I'd guess the game isn't drawing the 'glow' correctly.. Possibly updating vidcard drivers and DirectX might fix it.

Thanks- Updating Nvidia driver now, will get back in touch soon

Thanks.

Edit: I used the cd I got with my graphic card packaging. I didnt have any nvidia software, but now I installed the contents of the disc, and all seems fine now.

Do you see what the problem was?

Thanks Alot.
Ash.

Probably GW and graphic card driver not understanding eachother, there's a lot of differences between driver versions, some older ones might run some games perfectly, where as some newer one has strange bugs.. just like the one you now had.

Back when I had ATi card, Knights of the Old Republic lagged horribly on certain map with latest drivers, but didn't lag at all on older ones. Pretty odd.
